Last year was sweet! If you weren't there, we missed you.

This year will be clever and smart and beautiful and kind. It’s like a weekend getaway with your best friend: well-deserved, rejuvenating, overdue and comfortable. We can’t wait to see you!

    Frequently Asked Questions

I can't come to Alt, how do I sell my spot?

We are so bummed you can't be at Alt this year! This is what you need to do to transfer your spot:
    1. Go to our Facebook page or use the hashtag #altsummit in Twitter to let people know you have a ticket to sell and how to contact you.
    2. When you have someone who wants your ticket, arrange payment with them.
    3. Send an email to sara@altitudesummit.com stating who you want to transfer your registration to, include her email address.
    4. We will close out your registration.
    5. We will send a code to that person that allows her to register. It will charge her a $50 transfer fee.
    6. Remember: any other transfer of funds is solely between you and the person who is taking your place.

Now that registration is closed, is there a waiting list?

There is not a waiting list. If registered attendees want to sell their spots we are encouraging then to put in on our Facebook page or on Twitter with the hashtag #altsummit. Watch those sources for any spots that might become available.

Also note: we have a number of sponsors that have tickets to giveaway. Watch for information in our newsletters.

How do I modify my registration?

    1. Grab your confirmation code from your registration confirmation email.

    2. Go to the first page of registration and click on "modify registration."

    3. Click the EDIT button in the top-right hand corner.

    4. You are on the page to sign up for "Dinner With." Do that.

    5. Click CONTINUE at the bottom of this page and you have made it to the page for Design Camp and Tours.

    6. Click on the camp or tour description to register.

What if I want to sign up for two Design Camp classes at the same time?

There are so many great options on Saturday, we don't blame you. However, our system will not let you overlap times for Design Camp classes or Tours. Choose wisely.

What's up with skiing on Saturday?

Every Alt Summit registration comes complete with a free pass to Solitude Ski Resort. Which is totally... gnarly. In the coolest sense of the word.

Last year, the owner of Solitude met Alt Summit attendees as they stepped off their shuttle and made sure they had their best ski day ever.

Even if you don't ski, you won't regret a day trip to Solitude. The resort feels like a Swiss Village set in the Alps. The scenery is spectacular and there are lots of activities available that don't require getting on a ski lift.

Don't feel like a ski trip? We've got you covered. There will be other great options for spending your Saturday in the city.

How do I get tickets to a Sundance screening?

Sundance Film Festival tickets should be purchased in advance. They are on sale now! Go here for all the details! If Sundance is a must for you on this trip, we suggest securing your movie tickets ahead of time.

If you can't get your hands on tickets, you can still take part in the Sundance scene. Plan a day trip to Park City and walk the charming, hilly streets where you can keep your eyes peeled for your favorite celebrities. You could even stop by the Sundance House — everyone's invited. Or drop into the Beehive Tea House. It's not far from the Alt Summit Hotel, and it's the Salt Lake City Sundance hotspot.

    What should I wear?

January in Salt Lake City means cold. So we recommend layers of warmth. If you're planning on exploring the town, snow-ready boots would also make sense. Want specifics? Take a look at what last year's attendees wore on our Flickr page.

When should I fly in? When should I leave?

Great questions. We recommend flying in on Wednesday so that you'll be ready for "Dinner With" at 6:30 PM. This is a great way to reconnect with old friends or spend the evening making new ones. If you miss dinner, no worries, we reccomend you get a good night's sleep and be ready to go for the first session on Thursday morning.

We have a full day planned for Saturday! Tours include skiing at Solitude Ski Resort, a trip to Sundance Film Festival or a day of thrifting, just to name a few. Or spend the day honing your skills! Classes include letterpress, Photoshop, jewelry making and loads of photography. You must sign up in advance for Tours and Design Camp classes.

    When should I stay?

The five-diamond Grand America Hotel is the perfect place to host a weekend of luxury, pampering and mind-blowing design inspiration. Hand-cut chandeliers, English wool carpets, and boutique-style meeting rooms create an experience that is second to none. The luxurious rooms and suites make this the ultimate destination event in Salt Lake City, and the on-site spa is the perfect place to wind down from the weekend's activities.

The Grand America sells out every year. If you think you will be coming, make your reservations early! If you choose to call the Grand America, make sure to mention you are coming for Alt Summit to get one of the rooms that we have set aside.

Marriott University Park is a quick cab ride away and moderately priced. Book through their website or call 800-228-9290 and ask for a room in the Alt Summit room block.

The Comfort Inn is just two blocks away. Reserve a room by calling 801-325-5300 then make sure to bring us some hot waffles from their breakfast bar.
