Friday Links: Fulfilling the Must

By: Kelly Smith; Photos by Brooke Dennis and Justin Hackworth for Alt Summit

The Alt community is filled with such amazing people working towards their dreams and living their must on a regular basis. Here are just a few examples of those just like you hustling to align their passion with their goals.

Alison Faulkner combined her love of baking with her love for dancing and produced Alison's Cookie Party an online course for making the perfect sugar cookie with royal icing.

Moorea Seal turned her online shop into a successful storefront in Seattle under the namesake Moorea Seal

Troy Williams found his happy medium between family life and owning his own very successful event planning company.

Elle Rowley tapped into her sense of style as she found a need for creating beautiful yet functional wraps

Hilary Rushford turned her love of impeccable style and class into an online course over at Dean Street Society that  launched her into success.

Each one of these Alt Alumni set out to turn their unique talents into profitable business models and have shown that going after the right must can be a life changing event.

This weekend we challenge you to think about and write down your must. Then put it on the wall where you will see it everyday as a reminder of why you work hard each and every day.

Eden Hensley

Marketing creative, community engagement specialist, technophile, photographer, food and wine enthusiast, and the founder and editor-in-chief of The Road to The Good Life, a lifestyle blog about appreciating and enhancing your life by being grateful for the "haves" instead of lingering on the "wants." There you will find personal stories about my life and family weaved in with real-life, achievable entertaining tips, recipes for hearty home cooked meals, and DIY projects for capturing and sharing memories. I believe the best place to swap stories is over a shared meal, preferably a Thai-meal served family style, and teach an online introduction class to Thai Flavors and host the Family Dinners at The Station supper club in San Francisco.
