Alt Chat Wednesday: Writing with Style

One of the toughest audiences any writer addresses is the blank page or the empty screen. Yet, content creators face this audience repeatedly. And as we write day after day our words begin to flow more freely and with more confidence.

Join the Alt community and Kate Kiefer Lee (@KateKiefer), writer and editor at MailChimp and author of Nicely Said: Writing for the Web with Style and Purpose, this morning at 9 AM PT/12 PM ET for an hour-long chat about writing.

MailChimp will be sponsoring today's chat and giving away a copy of Kate Kiefer Lee's new book, Nicely Said: Writing for the Web with Style and Purpose. Get tips from Kate on how she tackles writer's block. Be ready to share what the hardest part about writing for you is and how you deal with your harshest critic--you.

Want to win? Here are the details.

  1. Join the #AltChat on June 11 from 9 - 10 AM PDT, if you can.
  2. Every tweet using the hashtag #AltChat and #MailChimp will be entered to win a bag of MailChimp goodies which includes some really fun limited edition items and a copy of Nicely Said by Kate Kiefer Lee and Nicole Fenton. You can tweet once or tweet 17 times, each is another chance to win.
  3. Tweet all day! All tweets related to and using the hashtags #AltChat #MailChimp will be entered to win from 9 AM - 5 PM PDT. You must use both hashtags.
  4. One winner will be randomly selected and announced on Twitter Wednesday night before midnight PDT. The winner will also be listed here.

Marketing creative, community engagement specialist, technophile, photographer, food and wine enthusiast, and the founder and editor-in-chief of The Road to The Good Life, a lifestyle blog about appreciating and enhancing your life by being grateful for the "haves" instead of lingering on the "wants." There you will find personal stories about my life and family weaved in with real-life, achievable entertaining tips, recipes for hearty home cooked meals, and DIY projects for capturing and sharing memories. I believe the best place to swap stories is over a shared meal, preferably a Thai-meal served family style, and teach an online introduction class to Thai Flavors and host the Family Dinners at The Station supper club in San Francisco.
