If you're like us, you're craving a break; cozy sweats, laughing with people you love, binge-watching Netflix, and of course really good food. To the many of you that work from home, wishing you especially a work-free moment or two to recharge and rejuvenate.
Speaking of which, working from home really is having it all and turkey too, right? This week, a few of our awesome speakers and alum share what it's really like by answering the question, "What is the biggest perk about being a blogger/business owner?"

Working for yourself! I love working at home, and I love the freedom of doing what I want. However, it comes with a price. I work way more hours than I have ever worked before, and I’m making a lot of decisions, which can be exhausting, not to mention, stressful. Plus, all the accounting, contracts, and behind the scenes logistics involved in owning and operating a small business is not super glamorous and can be a big headache. However, at the end of the day, I get to work at home and do what I love, so there’s a tradeoff.

I get to work from home on my own schedule. Oh, and eat all the donuts and drink all the milkshakes!

Having been a founder and then selling my company and then going to work for the company that bought mine…then leaving the company that bought mine to starting another company…I have experienced it all. The single biggest perk for me is the freedom. As an employee – I could not come and go as I pleased. I think juggling raising children and growing a business is very difficult. It is much more difficult in a structured corporate environment. I am so much happier to be back working as a founder and entrepreneur. If I need to stop everything to help with homework I can. If my kids want me to meet them in the park I can do that too. It may mean working from 9 until midnight but I am free to make those choices.
We hope your holiday is grand!
